I have enjoyed working with trees and being in the woods for as long as I can remember. Many weekends growing up were spent at our family cabin in the woods, exploring or helping my dad to clear or trim trees to keep the woods at its healthiest. I have completed many projects managing the woods and CRP on my property near Zumbrota. Being a lineman for 12 years allowed me to learn new techniques and learn the art of tree trimming around the power lines.
After being a lineman, I moved into an electrical operations role and was in charge of managing the tree contractor. During my time in electrical operations, I was able to improve the Right of Way clearing program, gathering ideas on how to improve efficiency and getting the co-op members the most trees cleared for their money. I became ISA certified to further my knowledge of tree health.
